These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rool platform, APIs, SDKs, and related applications and websites (collectively, the "Service") operated by Lightpost One Ltd ("Lightpost One", "Rool", "we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Rool provides hosted software, APIs, developer tools, collaborative workspaces ("Spaces"), and AI-powered features that allow users to create, store, and manipulate structured data and related content.
We may update, modify, or improve the Service at any time.
We do not guarantee that any specific feature or functionality will always be available.
2. Accounts
To use certain features, you must create an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Keep credentials secure
- Be responsible for all activity under your account
- Notify us of unauthorized access
You may not share accounts or access the Service through automated or unauthorized means.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Store or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content
- Upload malware or attempt to disrupt systems
- Abuse or overload the Service
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service
- Bypass security or usage limits
- Interfere with other users
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of all data, content, and materials you upload or create in the Service ("Customer Content").
To operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Host
- Store
- Process
- Transmit
- Back up
- Display
- And otherwise use Customer Content
solely as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to upload and use your content.
5. AI Features and Outputs
The Service may include AI-powered features that generate or modify content.
You understand and agree that:
- AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete
- Outputs are generated automatically
- Outputs are provided for informational purposes only
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying results
The Service is not intended to provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
6. Service Improvement and Model Development
To operate and improve the Service, we may analyze and process:
- Customer Content
- Prompts and interaction history
- Usage and technical data
- Feature usage patterns
for purposes such as reliability, security, analytics, and developing and improving machine-learning systems used in the Service.
Where feasible, we minimize, aggregate, pseudonymize, or de-identify such data.
Certain plans or agreements may include additional data-use restrictions. If your plan provides such restrictions, those terms will apply to your account or workspace.
7. Plans, Fees, and Billing
Some features may require a paid subscription.
If you purchase a paid plan:
- You agree to pay applicable fees and taxes
- Fees are non-refundable unless required by law
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- We may change pricing with reasonable notice
If you downgrade or terminate a plan, certain features may become unavailable.
8. Availability
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted availability
- Error-free operation
- Permanent storage of data without backups
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups where appropriate.
9. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your use poses security or legal risks
- Required by law
Upon termination, your access will end and data may be deleted according to our retention practices.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service, including software, APIs, documentation, and branding, is owned by Lightpost One or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service or our technology.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Lightpost One will not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business
- Loss resulting from AI outputs or automated actions
Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed:
- The total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or
- EUR 100 if you use only free services
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lightpost One from claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your Customer Content
- Violation of these Terms
- Violation of third-party rights
14. Children
The Service is a general-purpose productivity and developer platform and is not directed to children under 16.
We do not knowingly allow accounts created by children. If we become aware of such an account, we may remove it.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time.
If changes are material, we will provide notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
