Lightpost One builds Rool, a platform and developer toolkit for working with structured data, collaborative spaces, and AI-powered tools.
We aim to be straightforward and respectful about privacy. We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising, and we only use data to operate, secure, and improve the Rool service.
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Who we are
Lightpost One Ltd is the operator of Rool.
- For account and operational data, we act as a data controller.
- For content stored in Rool Spaces, you are typically the data controller, and we act as a data processor providing hosting and processing services on your behalf.
2. Data we collect
Account data
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Authentication information (tokens or IDs from your auth provider)

Used to create and operate your account.

This includes the content you create or upload while using Rool, such as:
- Objects, relations, and metadata
- Files and media
- Prompts and interaction history with AI features
- User storage and preferences
- Collaboration data (members, roles, activity)
This data is stored so the service functions as intended and remains under your control.

Collected automatically when the service is used:
- IP address
- Device/browser information

Used for reliability, debugging, abuse prevention, and security.

- Authenticate users
- Store and synchronize Spaces
- Enable collaboration features
- Execute AI operations you request
- Maintain reliability and security
- Provide support
- Improve and develop the service
We do not:
- Sell personal data
- Use data for advertising
- Track users across unrelated websites
4. AI processing and service improvement
When you use AI features (such as prompts, placeholders, search, or generation), relevant content and context are processed to provide the requested functionality.
To operate and improve Rool, we may use:
- Service data (including prompts, interaction history, and content stored in Spaces)
- Usage and technical data
- Feature usage patterns and system feedback
for purposes such as:
- Improving reliability and quality
- Enhancing safety and abuse prevention
- Evaluating performance
- Developing, testing, and improving machine-learning systems used in the service
Where feasible, we minimize, aggregate, pseudonymize, or de-identify data used for these purposes.
We do not use customer data for advertising or marketing profiling.
5. Plan-based data use options
Different plans or agreements may include additional data-use restrictions.
For example, certain paid or enterprise plans may offer options that limit or exclude the use of Space content for model improvement or service analytics.
If your plan includes such restrictions, those terms will apply to your account or workspace as specified in your agreement.
6. Data sharing
We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate Rool, including:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
- Authentication providers
- AI or compute providers used to fulfill requested AI features
- Professional advisors or authorities where required by law
These providers are bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements.
We do not sell or trade customer data.
7. Data location
Data is primarily stored within the European Union.
If processing occurs outside the EU/EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent protections.
8. Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary:
- Account data: while your account exists
- Space data: until you delete it
- Logs: limited retention for operational and security purposes
Deleting a Space removes its data from active systems. Backups expire automatically after a limited period.
9. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccuracies
- Export your data
- Delete your data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
You can export your Spaces at any time using built-in export tools.

- Access controls
- Secure infrastructure
- Monitoring and updates
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data using best practices.
11. Children

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has created an account or provided personal data, we will take steps to delete the information.
If you believe this has occurred, please contact contact@rool.dev.
